AB PLC-5/10 and NT-1776-HSD-R

Post by AK5fa »

Dear Experts,

I've come across an unusual piece of hardware for AB PLC-5 racks. I mean the NT-1776-HSD-R resolver input module. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to find any datasheets or manual for this product. I found nothing.
So, I'm trying to piece any bits of information in order to test that HSD module in our lab. I would appreciate any answer, advice or a piece of wisdom related to this subject. In particular, I would like to know:

1) I have a 1771-A2B 8-slot rack (with internal power supply occupying the 2 rightmost slots). Does it matter where the card is installed in the rack: Slot 0, Slot 1 or any other odd or even slot numbers?

2) Which Slot addressing do I set with the switch settings: 2-slot, 1-slot or 1/2-slot? Does this setting depend on the slot number (in the above question)?

3) The module user a 40-screw front connector, which has its own DC power inputs, 1 resolver input, 8 Digital Inputs, 8 Digital Outputs. Also, the front of the module has 32 LEDs.
Given all those facts, Is it correct to assume that it's a 32-point type of module?

4) In that case, what would be the I and O addresses used by these module?

5) How would the Rack/Group/Module address look for this module (a general rule), if I am to use a BTR or BTW command?
For example, if I use 1-slot addressing and install the module in Slot 1, would it be correct to have Rack=0, Group=1, Module=0 ?

I apologize for the basic questions. But I really am stuck at the moment. So, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and Best Regards,
