Presently, I´m working on a project where electrical connections of the PLC are the most important topic due to people safety inside the project. What I need to know is: which electrical cord you think is the apropiate for connect a power supply of 12V with a CPU S7-313C and some additional modules such as SM335. I have worked with AWG 12 and there was no problems but it was just an experiment.
Please send any feedback or idea that you consider helpful.
Regards.

Re: CPU S7-300 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Hello.
As I red Your post, my first answer is RTFM...
But.
The basics...
Folowing the safety rules...
You should have two connections, one is for the CPU and HMI , I usually use 1mm square ( something simmilar to AWG 17 ) and it's usually enough . Second for output and relays which should be turned on and off by safety relay ( notaus... ) .
The diameter of the second supply You should count depending on power consumption of the system , wiring lenth and enviromental conditions.
For fast calculations we usually use the the multipier 7Amps/mm square , if we suppouse the enviroment themperature higher than standard or wire lenth more than 100meters we change the multiplier.
