Hi,
I had to make connection with my laptop to Siemens PLC Fail-Safe, 1 MPI/DP and 1 ethernet connection.
Because my laptop has no serial connection I had to use someone elses laptop with serial port to afterwards make connection with my own laptop.
Someone told me there is a trick (little crack) you can do so you can connect with a laptop without a serial port without having any problem.
Is there somebody who know's that trick?
Because normally for the first use you really need a Siemens PG or laptop with a serial connection to make a configuration and after that everyone with no serial connection can acces the PLC.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Problem connecting PC laptop with PLC
Hi
PCMCIA card (for example CP5512) and HW-adaptor for this card, or USB to MPI adaptor.
Without some hardware it's impossible to connect.
