On the EPLAN web /client side, the new 2026 version can only be downloaded if you first exchange your 2025 license. I think this is something new! Attached is the 2026 License Client — I don’t think it will work with the VMware setup, but if anyone feels like experimenting with it, go ahead.

Tested with VMware win10 eplan2025, License client and platform updated. It worked fine. Waiting for the new version 2026 avaible, to test it.

You need find out the IP address of server and put yours on same range. Then, run eplan2026
using the license manager option, putting the IP of your server. Finaly, login with the user EPLAN and pass 5379

You just need to have the eplan host and the license server on the same network.
Make sure by pinging the IP server from the host.

has anyone got that VMWARE license server running ?
It's running on my VM, but when trying to connect to it from a 2026 EPLAN license client (running on other PC: Host or other VM) I get
error : Error [Dcom]: [0x800706BA] The RPC server is unavailable. (MAX 10.26 is popup header)
I tried following user in the connect popup:
user: EPLAN2025-20241\EPLAN
password: 5379

in the txt files they talk about:
User licence manager: xx\EPLAN
Pass: 5379

is it user EPLAN ? because there's also a user EPLAN2025

Strange thing when i install EPLAN 2026 inside of the VM, I don't get a license activation window after installation.
It fully works, can even make changes and save. Only Product info says: "EPLAN DEMO SYSTEM".

edit 1: i've tweaked the license VM a bit (settings of DCOM) and now my EPLAN client can also connect to the license server in the VM.
But still it also shows product: "EPLAN DEMO SYSTEM" inside the license screen. (fully functional)

edit 2: strange, I now make a second VM with a EPLAN 2025 installed in it and let it look at the license VM server. Now it looks fully licensed normally. Product now shows: "EPLAN Component Manufacturer".

So the same license is working for 2025, but for 2026 it shows a EPLAN DEMO SYSTEM (but is fully functional), anyone same experience for 2026 ?

Hello,

I can ping the server, so I know the correct network address.
When I start EPLAN and am prompted for the license server, I enter the corresponding IP address.
Is there anything else I need to do on the VM where the server is running? Start something?

Then I’m asked for a username and password.
I’m not sure what to enter for the username.

I tried “EPLAN2025” as the username. Password: 5379
Then the following error message appeared:

The License Manager ‘192.168.5.128’ is not available over the network.
User: EPLAN2025
Error [DCOM 0x800706BA]: The RPC server is not available.

I opened up more DCOM settings on the license VM server, otherwise my other PC with EPLAN installed would not be able to connect to the license VM server. Just change with dcomcfg (componet services) and add user "everyone" the the dcom config op eplan processes.
