Named connection

Post by DelSnos »

Hi

We want to move WINCC project to new PC. But we used named connection tags. We don't have simatic manager project and I think the project has been lost for a long time

How we can move WInCC Project with Named connection tags to new PC?

Thanks

no problem with wincc
your problem is with station configurator
you are need *.xdb file with configuration of connection for load into the new station configurator
i have no idea where is stored on pc

Hi

I founded ES station. From this station executed compile and download to PC station.

But I checked the default folder with .xdb file in Simatic Mng and couldn't find :)

So we have to make compile again

Thanks

in any case for new station you need:
1. for configure station manager: in simatic manager press right click on pc station - plc - configure. check your pc exist in a list and in a gray row, press configure.
2. for load connection into station manager: in simatic manager press right click on pc station - plc -download.
3. after this download/copy a wincc project with or without compile
don`t forget set pg/pc interface

Hi all!

I've new pc station which I try to connect to siemens s7-400 plc.

I've made a copy of the wincc project of "old" pc station (with project duplicator tool) and open it at new pc station.

New pc station is configured in simatic manager (hw config, netpro), .xdb file is imported to new pc.

"Old" Simatic PC Station 1 (HMI) based on "s7_connection_1" and "s7_connection_2" named connections

"New" Simatic PC Station 2 (PC) based on "s7_connection_3" and "s7_connection_4" named connections

The problem is that when I'm trying to set new named connection (s7_connection_3 or s7_connection_4) on new pc station 2 (in tag managment) I've got an information "the connection is read only". I can select only "s7_connection_1"

Can You advise what can I do to solve this problem?

Please look at attached files in this topic:

Kind regards,

Jakub

You've got right! But when I click on "new" pc_station_2 -> plc -> configure in accessible computers I can see both PCs (old PC1 and new PC2)
but in local network connection I see only newtork adapters of old PC_Station_1 (two CP1613 adapters).
Maybe the problem is that the PC2 was copied from PC1 and modified because after I add new pc station in Simatic Manager I can't drag and drop winnCC Apl in HW Config
(I've got "unable to insert the object" error).
New PC_Station_2 is equipped with CP1623 adapter.

don`t put "wincc appl", put "appl ref" and point to your pc1 appl.

usually sequence is:
1. unbox pc, install windows, msmq, iis(if webux or webnavigator planned), inset netcard or use integrated, change pc name, set ip.
2. install wincc rt, share folder for project with "simatic hmi" group access, for set security can run "simatic rights" & choose your folder, set pg/pc interface
3. in simatic manager put pc station, set pc name as your pc
4. in hw config put "appl ref" for same rt proj or "appl" for new proj, same for client
4a. put your net card, set same ip as your pc
4b. compile hw
5. in simatic manager if proj is ref set master proj, for client set server proj & set path pointed to shared folder for download proj to dest pc.
6. in netpro set pc-plc connection (if creation start from pc you can change connection name, from plc - cannot), compile

next as in post before:
7. for configure station manager: in simatic manager press right click on pc station - plc - configure. check your pc exist in a list in the gray field, select it, press configure.
8. for load connection into station manager: in simatic manager press right click on pc station - plc -download.
9. right click on your wincc appl download a wincc project with or without compile

p.s.
1. my recommendation within install msmq open all tree of option & check all, in iis the same except ftp
2. think i am not lost some stage...
