[?]: Drive Monitor Problem

I am trying to communicate with a micromaster 420 drive.
In drive monitor when i go set up online uss conection it finds the drive as follows:

Unit type?????? version ??????

Some of the other micromaster drives go online fine but some have the above problem and won't go to the parameter list page.

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong here.
