[?]: External Memory Cartridge 24C256 for S7-200

Hi
I want to make external memory cartridge for S7-200 PLC.
I have seen PCB of module it uses ATMEL 24C256 IC.
I have connected DIP pakage IC and used memory module connector to connect to PLC .
But If tried to Program this;

MW anwers "NO MEMORY CARTRIDE CONNECTED.

Pl advice.

Whether this eprom requires any preprograming before insewrting as a module to PLC?

It makes sense that something should be preprogramed on eeprom before your plc could detect it. Try to dump memory of an original cartidge and let us know.
