Dear All,
I'm new in using ABB AC500 PLC and its software CoDeSys. v2.3
I just wanted to communicate with a pressure transmitter such as 2600 series (ABB) and plc AC500 using profibus.
I knew that I have to use *.gsd file to identify the transmitter on the software, and i added this file successfully, but when I wanted to assign any variables (like reading the transmitter reading value)...I couldn't do it and I'm lost in the help files.
I face these problems...
1- what should I choose? do i have to choose analog input (short) or (long)? and what is the difference?

2- and in case i choose analog input (short), what should I do next? do I have to assign a code inside every byte of it (i mean in every input) or what?

I know you will ask me to go back to the instrument communication manual....but I really did but in vain.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance
Ahmed
