how to communicate between RS logix 5000 with Emulate 5000

DEar All,

I want to make a training module using RS logix emulate 5000 (as a replacement for the hardware, since it will be a waste if i buy a specified hardware only for training purpose). Therefore I intend to build a training module based on only software (using emulator and VMware as the 'virtual' PLC). At first when I make the emulator on the same host with the RS logix 5000, the program went well. The RS logix 5000 and the emulator could communicate each other. But when I try to make the emulator inside the VMWare, the 'virtual' PLC could not be seen by the RS logix 5000.

I have been trying to link them using RS linx via ethernet communication (since the communication between the VMware PC with the real host is ethernet). but it is no good. the RS linx could only see each other driver (AB_ETH-1 is consists of the host IP and the VMWare's IP).

Have anybody try to do the same thing with me? trying to connect the emulator with the programmer via ethernet? Please give me any hints or advice to do so if you don't mind.

Hi,
First of all, you need to have rslinx, rslogix5000 and emulate5000. It's important that the version of rslogix5000 and emulate5000 must be the same. Here is some useful links.
