Hi,
I have tried with the cable IBH S5-USB-Adaptor, communicate with the PLC above, but I can not!
The response of the technical assistance of IBH Softec is that the port of the PLC may be damaged.
I'm using S5 S7 for windows version 6.6.1.
The cable is good because I've used in other PLC's.
Configuration used: Baud rate: 9600, Parity, No Handshake, Data bits: 8 Stop bits: 1
My question is if I can try with the software PG2000?
How do you configure the serial port? Is there another alternative?
I also have the cable from Siemens AG / TTY 6ES5 734-1BD20, but the result is the same when used with a converter Serial / USB.
Regards,
Bruno

Hi, BLima,
with PG 2000 yo have to choose Options/Interfaces then COM 1 or what COM is available on your computer.
Regarding USB-RS232 convertor + Siemens cable I have a question: Your USB-RS232 converter has been tested and it work with other S5 PLC ?
dekor.

Hi Dekor,
I haven't tested my USB/serial converter with another PLC. I will try it and let you know.
The configuration that I posted of my serial port is correct?
Regards,
Bruno

Yes. Setup COM-port is standard.BLima wrote:... The configuration that I posted of my serial port is correct? ...
It's a default for PG2000.

Just a something to share I used also usb to serial converter for my mpi adapter. In pgpc interface you need to select which com port you are using, before you select you need to go to device manager and check what port is assigned to the usb to serial converter. After yo check what port is assigned select this on your pgpc interface setting. Maybe this is also applicable to your case maybe the port assigned is not com1.

Hi,
I tried to connect the rs232/tty + usb->rs232 converter to my laptop but PG2000 cannot detect my S5 PLC. Also, I checked the Device Manager and my usb connection showed a "!". Does it need a driver?

Not all the USB RS232 converters are working with S5 PLC.
I use the one that is presented on link below.
