Hi friends
I have the next hardware:
1747-L542C 5/04 CPU DH-485 port, DH+ port (free)
2711-B5A2 PV550 DH-485 port
They are connected directly trough DH-485 port, but I need to add another device (display) with RS232 connection...
This is possible with 1747-KE DH-485/RS232C Interface Module, but I think is a pretty expensive (752US$), this card has an DH485 port and I do not need that...
Do you know if exists a card with only RS232 ports? I think shoud be cheper.
Also i have been searching and exists a 1747-DPS2 Port splitter, with this I can connect controller though RS233/DF1 port and the HMI with DH485 port, and is cheaper (429US$)
Have you worked with this splitter?
Do you have another idea?
Thanks in advance.

Re: [?]: Another option instead of 1747-KE DH-485/RS232C?
Hi my friend
In my last automation project, I did the following comunication:
- 01 - SLC 500- 5/05 CPU RS232 and Ethernet;
- 03 - HMI PV550 touchscreen;
On CPU I configured RS232 port in DH-485, but your remind that your that you use is RS232 port and your PV550 is RS485 DH-485 protocol.
On out from RS232 CPU 5/05, with a 1747-CP3 cable I installed a RS232/RS485 convert, then in each HMI I configured the node adress.
I didn't need to use another type of convert, for example, a AB convert.
up to now, this is working without problem.

all teams must use the DH485 protocol
configured in the SLC channel 0 as DH485
to connect a 1761-SLC-5/04 NETAIC or a 1747-PIC and have a network multipoint.
'll have to use a 1761-NETAIC for each device RS232
you have another if you change your PV for a model with DH+
