hi all,
has anyone tried using the s7 300 series cpu with the Y-Link for making a hot stanby system.
any inputs for the same will be appreciated.

hi, i usually use a cpu 300 with redundancy sw, and im153-2 and other.

There are 2 types of redundancy used. One is software redundancy and the other is hardware redundancy. Hardware redundancy is for S7-400 and can use together with Y-link. Software redundancy can be for S7-400/S7-300. Although the above mentioned manual of SWR never mention about can or cannot use Y-link but from my experience cannot. Siemens doesn't recommend it. Instead need to use repeaters.
