I have
Omron Touch panel: NS12 TS01 V1
Omron CPU: CJ1M CPU12
The panel was connected with the PLC via serial port (panel use PORT_A on it).
The problem is that Panel has no communication with the PLC and this is an old machine which Im trying to fix.
First I want to upload project from the PLC and from Panel. On the PLC port I cant make communication with the serial port. Then I use the adapter CS1W-CN118 to connect on the small port on the PLC. After that Im successful upload the program from the CPU to PC.
From the panel Im upload the project without any problem.
So my conclusion is that definitely the serial port on the PLC doesnt work - and I want to change communication between the panel and CPU to use this small port on the PLC (Host link).
What need to be done to have communication between the Panel Serial port A and PLC Peripheral port?
I newer work with the Omron so need help soon as possible

It works with combination:
CPM1-CIF01 (RS232<-> Peripheral)
and
CS1W-CN114 (Peripheral<->MiniPeripheral)
See:

You mean that isnt possible to have communication via:
(mini port) -> CS1W-CN118 -> (serial cable) -> TouchPanel?
Which type of cable is necessary to connect between the dapter CS1W-CN118 and Touch panel. There is a milion of cables for Omron - dont understand why it is so complicated.

It sholud be possible your way (CN118), but I never did it.
I did it as I wrote above (CIF+CN114) and it worked.

Thanks for your suggestion..
Any way I still need help for cable pinout to connect 118 with the panel...and should I need to put HostLink as protocol of communication?

It works with HostLink, also works with NT Link.
For pinout read CJ1 manual (each terminal NT and NS series are connected the samo way via RS232 HostLink)
