[?]: ABB 3rd party software installation file for 800xA 5.1
Hi,
I am installing 800xA version 5.1 with 32 bit. But my installation strucked up in the 3rd party software installation step.
The media which I copied does not have the exe file to run the 3rd party software.
Can someone please upload the 3rd party software installation folder?
Thanks,

What's a missing file name? Where did you get installation media? Can you upload error screenshot or quote error message?

Dear Mr.Linkinx64,
Thanks for your immediate replay.
Sorry I don't have the screen shot of that error. But the error display was " ABB 3rd party software can not be installed. Setup file not available in the source location"
This media I copied from ABB system software DVD. It seems when I copy the file it is not copied the complete folder.
Then I used the media of 64bit which I copied from your link to install only the 3rd party software. It works and continued the automated installation.
After finished the 3rd party installation I changed the media to 32bit. And it continues.
Thanks,

Do not mix 32 and 64 bit software. Though it looks too similar, versions of 3rd party software and components are different. Download 800xA 32-bit installation media from my links and try again.

Hmm... I have downloaded several parts of 800xA 5.1 32-bit and found no "3rd_Party_SW" folder in the archive.
Three folders "ABB", "Microsoft" and "Microsoft_SQL_server" in the root of the archive instead to be in "3rd_Party_SW" (as in the DVD). Do not download 800xA 5.1 32-bit from my links from now, it has to be reuploaded.
Later, I will send you links to download "3rd_Party_SW" separately.

"DISC 1: System" in viewtopic.php?f=43&t=15855&p=46181 (800xA 5.1 for Windows 32-bit) repacked and reuploaded.
Folder "3rd_Party_SW" placed to the end of archive.
To get "3rd_Party_SW" folder only you need download parts 35 - 56.
Then open iit_800xa_system_v5.1_dvd1_system.part35.rar in WinRAR, drag "3rd_Party_SW" folder and drop to (e.g.) desktop to start extraction.

800xA 5.1 on a Windows 8 install?
Yesterday I've tried to install 800xA on a Windows 8 platform, since it's written that support for the higher version is available.
Automated installation doesn’t work and there is an exception thrown from the script.
Any idea from someone succeeded with installation.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get such information? Only Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 are officially supported by 800xA SV5.1.st_e_fan wrote:Yesterday I've tried to install 800xA on a Windows 8 platform, since it's written that support for the higher version is available.
And message with thrown exception is required (better screenshot).

Re: [?]: ABB 3rd party software installation file for 800xA
Ive managed to install it.The only problem i stuck on is that i can connect the client to the existing domain with the right permissions but connection to existing system seems unavailable due to fact i'm using Vbox as host for the 800xA. There may be a chance that all be ok if i connect to real HW (domain and 800xA). In fact i have such configuration in the office, so i'll post the results. About the support for higher version...check system installer folder and find file with release notes. It's mentioned that is supported. Any ideas will be appreciated

Re: [?]: ABB 3rd party software installation file for 800xA
Tests are done. Here some preliminary info:
1. Single node installation is possible. Not in automated or planning mode. First 3rd party SW, then Licensing, aspect studio, DTM, CBM, PPA etc.Bypass of standard registration can be done by just stop the CLS service and copy of the modified libs over the original ones, then start the process again. The only one thing so far i cannot solve is that it's not possible to create a new project in CMB(i did not installed compact CBM) due to the fact HW libs and standard libs are missing. I've checked the system extension after creating the new system, and they are installed.
I think the best way will be to make an upgrade of the win 7 machine with 800xA installed. Please comment if any ideas! Regards!

800xA 5.1 and Windows 8
I can show what should you expect if you try install 800xA on Win 8 (no upgrade from Win 7):st_e_fan wrote:I think the best way will be to make an upgrade of the win 7 machine with 800xA installed. Please comment if any ideas! Regards!
Automated installation:
Manual installation:
Upgrade Win7 with installed 800xA to Win8 can be done only for testing purposes.
Win8 has Internet Explorer 10 that may affect on operator graphic displays (operator workplace based on IE framework, latest supported IE version up-to-date is 9).
This is not the only one problem, I know there are much more breakpoints on the road to maintain compatibility 800xA with Windows 8.
Moreover, Metro UI has enough of negative feedbacks from testers and potential users => Win8 have a chance to share the fate of Windows Vista.
And once again: 800xA 5.1 at the moment not compatible with Windows 8. This is official answer of ABB 800xA support service. So forget about 800xA + Win8 (at least for a couple of years). Let 800xA developers fix existing problems in 800xA on Win7

Re: [?]: ABB 3rd party software installation file for 800xA 5.1
Hello: I have a question that I hope you can activate for me. I want to activate a doc on the 800xa to use it on the abb plc. The thing is that I don't want to activate it with a button but with some conditions, that is, if one variable is greater than another, I activate a DOC to use it later in the PLC. If anyone knows how to do it I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
