I'm looking for documentation about anything that has to do with PLC which are PC based (possibilites, I/O, comparison to "classic" PLC, connectivity, solutions on market etc.).
Since I lack of comprehensive knowledge about PLC, I don't have much idea what I'm actually looking for and Google did not bring and useful resources yet.
Could you point me out to the right direction?

Thanks, I will take a look at it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I need a standalone Step7 in order to operate (programme) with WINAC RTX?
If that is the case, which version would you recommend me for Win7 x64? I only need as lite version as possible since I only need to quickly take a look at WINAC for study purposes and write something about it.
