AC800M PM856CPU lost App. after power ON.
Hi Linkinx64,
My CPU PM856 always request download application after power on. I've used new internal battery backup (replace SB822 for test), Battery LED is On.
I got remark "Application is downloaded for the first time".
Here is log file

Please help me to fix it.
Thanks.

When you are using internal battery the SB822 backup must be disconnected from the processor module. Either internal battery or SB822.

I sure only use internal battery and SB822 backup disconnected. But my CPU still lost App. after power ON.Linkinx64 wrote:When you are using internal battery the SB822 backup must be disconnected from the processor module. Either internal battery or SB822.

What's the PM856A/TP830 unit status after application download (check in control builder in the online mode)?

No errors and warnings I see. It's hard to say what can be a problem (if you are absolutely sure the battery is charged enough).
PM856A is new CPU (comparing with PM856) and might have new problems.
What's firmware and CBM version you are using to download?
Is this CPU have no such problem before?

Seven months ago, my system was problem with CPU PM865 (CPU hang on when Power on). I was aks you and I bought new CPU PM856A.Linkinx64 wrote:No errors and warnings I see. It's hard to say what can be a problem (if you are absolutely sure the battery is charged enough).

I'm using CBM ver5.1.0/1(Build 5.1.100.13), the firmware ver. is:
Could I use firmware of PM856 for PM856A? I can't find firmware of PM856A?

Re: AC800M PM856CPU lost App. after power ON.
There are no separate firmware file for the PM856A as far as I know.
However I would suggest you to try:
1. Install Compact Control Builder 5.1.1/1 and upgrade fimware to the latest version.
2. Download test application (could be empty application) from Compact Control Builder.

If I load new firmware to CPU for testing, is it working with my current system (800xA 5.1 Rev.A FP1) or must be downgrade firmware?

Could be warning about firmware mismatch at the download stage, but should work.tuangp wrote:If I load new firmware to CPU for testing, is it working with my current system (800xA 5.1 Rev.A FP1) or must be downgrade firmware?
Download application from CCB 5.1.1. Now we are trying identify if that is firmware/application problem or not (if battery voltage ok and no hardware damage what could be else...)

Refer the following procedure to connect the rechargeable external battery unit:
1. At delivery the Li-Ion battery package is not connected internally. Follow the
steps in the Data and installation sheet, which is enclosed in the packing box, to
connect the battery package properly.
2. Mount the SB822 rechargeable external battery unit at a suitable position on
the DIN-rail.
3. Connect the 24V supply to the connector enclosed in the packing box.
4. Connect the 24V supply to the battery unit (X3)
5. Make sure that the AC 800M controller is powered and that the battery LED in
the front of PM8xx is flashing
6. Connect the SB822 rechargeable external battery unit, use the 2 m (2.2 yd)
cable TK821V020. Plug one end into the battery unit and the other into the
external battery supply socket of the PM8xx processor unit (see Figure 2 on
page 32).
7. Make sure that the green Power LED and the yellow Charge LED on SB822
are turned on.
8. In redundant CPU configuration containing two
PM861/PM864/PM865/PM891processor units, use also two SB822 battery
units, one for each processor unit.
9. Due to the batteries being connected in parallel, it is necessary, when using the
external battery, to remove the internal battery from the PM8xx in order to
avoid reducing available memory back-up time.
Do not connect the TK821V020 cable until the AC 800M Controller has been
powered-up normally and the memory back-up function has been activated, that is,
the B(attery) LED flashes. If no normal power supply is connected to the PM8xx
processor unit, the CPU memory will immediately start to consume battery power
when the cable is connected..

It's not work. Cann't use CBM 5.1.0-1 with firmware 5.1.1110.3 (date 2013-03-04). After test, I must downgrade the firmware 5.1.100.13 (date 2011-04-17).

1. Check that battery is charged with multimeter.

I think this is matter. Battery backup exist but CPU not detect. Local support said this problem maybe issue by FPGA but they don't have any solution for this at the moment.Linkinx64 wrote:- 16#80020000 that means battery low or missing.Code: Select all

1. Check that battery is charged with multimeter.
By visual check, the battery holder is clear and look like secure. If I unplug battery, the (B) LED is flashing. If I plug battery,it is ON.2. Check that contacts in battery holder and battery itself not damaged.

I have a solution: exchange processor module with damaged FPGA / FPGA supply chain to the same or equivalent (upon the warranty period).tuangp wrote:Local support said this problem maybe issue by FPGA but they don't have any solution for this at the moment.
