Quantum CPU 434 12 A

I am working on Quantum CPU 434 12 A, I am using Software Concept 2.6 and Proworx 32 to program it.
When I try to download configuration from concept it gives error that you need to update the EXEC



So, when I get this error I launch EXECLOADER utility and try to upgrade the firmware of my CPU 43412A
The currently running firmware if my CPU is 1.02

So I have downloaded latest firmware of year 2005 April and try to download it into my CPU its start transferring and after 1-2 mints its says link between CPU is broken


I have done the done the same procedure with ProworX 32 execloader and I get the same result, also ProworX 32 says the controller is in DIM AWARNESS state.

I have then contact Schneider Electric Support, They says that we will advise you to use Concept 2.2 SR2 with old CPU's , now I am unable to find download link for Concept version 2.2 SR2 .

If Any one of you can help me I shall be highly thankful to you.

Please advise how to overcome this error?

Hello, just look in your Concept installation folder, there you find the suitable firmware for your PLC and your concept version.
If not, just provide me hardware ID, Version number and Kernel number of your PLC (you see it in EXECLoader) and which firmware version you need.

I need any firmware which works with my CPU434 12 A along with 06 Nos. of ACI 030 00 Cards.

Please be informed that I am using Concept 2.6 Version I do not have Concept 2.2 Version

After reading your reply, i have found *.bin files in concept folder (DAT Folder), My problem is that when i strat transferring Firmware into CPU its start and after 1-2 mints its stops and says that Link between CPU is broken,
The cable i am using is tested, as i have upload current running Firmware from CPU into computer by using same cable.

Hello, pls. see Firmware 1.20 in attachment (from Concept 2.6).
Are you using Modbus or Modbus+? Which Adapter?

Dude I am Using Modbus!
I have told you that I have successfully fetched the installed Firmware from CPU 43412A this proves that the cable is good.
I have try the file which you have provided but still result is same
any suggestions???

1) install the neuest modbus driver
for USB/485 or USB/232: Windows7-32_64-bit.7z

2) if new driver doesn't help, then you need another Modbus Adapter - sometimes 5$ adapter working fine and 50$ adapter doesn't work at all. I'am using original TSXCUSB485 adapter.

Champ I have TSXCUSB485 in my hand, I am using Windows XP, when I can upload firmware from CPU by using the same cable why I could not download the firmware?
have you worked on Proworx 32 ever?

Dude now I am using MODSOFT software for EXEC loading, I am getting same kind of error from MODSOFT as well.
It says while transferring "Waiting For Node To Rejoin The Link In Kernel Mode"
After some times it says "Mode Failed To Enter Kernel Mode"
Do you have now any idea about my problem?

Dim awareness is the off-the-shelf state of Modicon processors. It means that there is no configuration or logic in the processor. This state will also reappear if you take the battery out and power down to clear the memory. It does not matter whether you're using Nxt, Modsoft, Proworx Plus, or Concept, the processor will be in dim awareness.

Today in the Quantum range the term is "not Configured"

I had allready same troubles with Quantum 140CPU67160, with another PC it was possible to flash the PLC.

Which exec loader version do you have? How do you configurate the dip switches on front panel of PLC? Which LED are flashing on PLC?

If Kernel LED is flashing and firmware update via Modbus doesn't work, you can still try use Modbus+. But I think you will have no success. In this case something wrong with the controller and cannot be field recovered. The unit can be sent in for repair exchange from the outfit you originally purchased the equipment from.

Thank you very much for being with me while I was in pain
I have solved the problem successfully, Basically I was going to EXEC update as Concept 2.6 was asking for it at the time when I try to download logic and configuration into it.
So I was using EXECLOADER utility for that and I was not able to upgrade firmware like I mentioned in the previous post.
So I thought came in my mind that leave EXEC and try to program PLC by using old software's e.g. Modsoft , Proworx 32
So finally I have successfully programmed my CPU 434 12 A along with 08 Nos. of ACI 030 00 cards and CPS 114 10, by using ProworX 32.
Thanks a lot for your support , really you provide me such a useful information as well as hints to solve my problem , I have also changed the Cable as per your advise
