Dear All
I face cnc machine they use seimens touch screen and just ET200 IO and there is no cpu
they put the touch screen inside a closed box and I can not recognize its type.
can any one help me by explain what this system called?
Is it siemens embedded system?
Can you guide me about the softwares needed in this project?

Probably there are servo drives like Emerson (former control techniques) or ELAU let's say, that can run code in a special language like ANSI C. They have servo drive CPU that use ET200 for more IO interface and touch panel for HMI. It is very common this. A PLC CPU is not recommended because is slower in response than the previous solution.
