Hi,
I've recently bought a generic RS232/TTY cable for Siemens S5 PLC. I also bought a RS232 -> USB converter to connect the cable to my laptop. My problem is that when I connect from S5 to Laptop and run PG2000, it cannot detect the PLC. I've also checked the Device Manager in Windows but it shows the USB connection with an "!". Do I need a driver for this? If so, what do I need and where can I get it? Please help.
Thanks,
How to connect PG2000 to S5-115U using RS232/TTY + converter

U need driver for USB-RS232 (depending of manufactor). If all is correct u'll see in device manager USB port Number. U must indicate this number in PG2000 config.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I've managed to install the driver for the converter however PG2000 still cannot read anything. This is shown in the Device Manager:
The converter I'm using is compatible up to Windows 7. Is that a possible issue?
Also do I need to install S5 drivers?
Thanks,
