Sending data via the Modbus TCP

Post by druwa »

Hello everyone.
Could you please help me with defining of how much data I can send via the Modbus TCP protocol from the PLC on the bace of Siemens S7317-2PN/DP to the Honeywell DCS system?

Customer wants to send about 2000 signals: 400 FLOATs, 800 INT, 800 BOOL. But as I found in the documentation of Modbus TCP it is possible to send only 800 Coild and 100 Holding registers, which is not enough for sure.

If Modbus TCP does not suit for this - please suggest some other way of how to send such amount of data to external system?
Thank you.
