Hi,
I would like to drive a Simenes 1ft5062-0ac71-1-z with a Telemecanique Altivar 31. I have made some test and I could drive de motor and vary its frecuency, but the problem is that the motor is getting to hot. I have checked the current of each phase and it seems to bee too high (the nominal current should be around 1.5 A but it is getting 5-8 A). What could I be doing wrong? Is it not possible to drive this motor without a SimoDrive unit?

Re: Drive a Siemens 1FT5 motor with an Altivar variator
1) First Question: Why should you drive a Siemens Servo-Drive with other manufacturer Products ? SO pure and penniless that you are indeed not able to buy a Siemens Invertor ?
2) Second Question: From witch shithole you have purchased such an antique Equipment ? On the Scrapyard ? Modern-day Drive Types are 1FT7...1FT8... and not 1FT5
