Is it beneficial to keep a laptop having TIA Portal 15 and Step7 installed in parallel?

Is keeping Step7 on a laptop in parallel to Tia 15 worth it?
I would like to have a laptop for "all" situations, be it my company or some other.
Are there still projects that must not be opened with TIA but with Step7 instead?

Yes, unfortunately  there are many cases where need both. Even not one TIA version only! At least from my point if view.

Keep the topic alive - Does someone try TIA 15.1 and TIA 15 on one computer?

I am using TIA V13, TIA V15, TIA V15.1 as well as step7 5.6 in parallel at one same real computer and many VMs.

TIA V14 is not supporting .NET framework 4.7.

yes, TIA V13, V15,V15_1 and Step7 5.6 Pro in one real machine. For V15 I installed wincc professional, others I install wincc advanced for Panel and RTs.

For VMs, mostly, I installed TIA V13 , V15_1 and Step7 5.6 in many VMs. Of course, you cannot install two wincc professional at a same os.

I have 14 V15 and V15_1 in my laptop.
i use the correct version to don't update customer PLC. (sometime customer don't have last version)
in any case if we need to upload program from a unknow plc we need to have the same version/option from the existing plc.
