Motorize a manual table

Post by gtsolid »

I have a rotating table which is moved by a worm screw attached to a manual crank. Therefore very low speed.
I would like to replace the crank with an electric motor. I need precise position control, so an encoder would be needed.
Trivially therefore motor power cable and 2 signals (I + II encoder)
Do you need a NC to process these Siemens 808 type operations or could an Inverter, Micromaster type?
