A friend of mine has given me a PG710 Plus which had a hard drive crash and it was not booting at all and also floppy disks are lost, I have found a hard disk and installed dos 6.22 and STEP5 7.23 on the new hard disk, unfortunately when I run STEP5.exe in S5_SYS folder because of low RAM it can not run, gives No HIMEM.SYS or not enough XMS memory error, I tested on a virtual machine and you can run STEP5 7.23 with 8 MB of RAM, as you know PG has 2 30pin SIMM and because these are really old RAM modules I can not find RAM for it, wanted to know whether anybody can help me so that I got it up and running.
My current PG has 640kB system memory and 1024kB extnded memory, want to know what was the original DOS and STEP5 version available on PG710 Plus?
Hi all!
i need old version of step7 (for S7-300 programming), which I can run in Windows 3.11. it is older version than v3.1
if any have,please upload
thanks
STEP 7 V3.1 is a 32-bit application which requires Microsoft Windows 95 as its operating system. It cannot run under Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
We recommend that you also install the Microsoft Service Pack 1 (Win 95 version 4.00.950a).
I'm not sure there is such a version. I was working with a very old programmer with DOS and Windows 95 operating systems installed. But it was Windows 3.11 that did not exist.
And, as far as I still remember, Windows 3.11 was a "DOS system with a graphical shell", that is, programs written for DOS were run under Windows 3.11.
The version of STEP 7 that spacedev is reffering to, must be v1.0. STEP 7 1.0 : release date: 1995, discontinuation: 1. Februar 1997. Version history of STEP 7 started with version 1.0 in 1995. It was supplied on eight installation diskettes and one authorization diskette. The first version was executable under Windows 3.11.

I personally never used it, so I don't have this version to share.
I started with STEP 5 v7.11 and 7.2 in MS-DOS (CPU: 100U, 115U) and then switched directly to STEP7 v5.2 and newer.
In the previous post I've added the link and the description translated into English, since it's originally written in German.
Look for the table under "Versionsgeschichte"
@spacedev
From CoMod's post, I'm deducing it's going to be a difficult task finding a Step 7 version, Siemens would rather forget.
Let's hope someone else reading this, happens to have it.
For what kind of computer do you need it? Since there are only newer versions available,is there any chance to install Windows 95 on that comp?

That's what I wrote about: you inserted a link to Wikipedia, but you didn't bother to go through the links on this page. I looked at all the links on this page and wrote to you that there is no information about version 1. And you write to me so that I look. Take the trouble to look for yourself.

"To use STEP 5/ST V 7.0, you require at least the MS-DOS 5.0 operating
system. You can also use the following:
Higher MS-DOS versions, Windows 3.x and Windows95
Windows NT is not supported."
STEP 7 Micro/DOS is now available in version 1.1. The new version
supports 5 languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish)
and also includes a few minor function expansions and bug fixes.
_Compatibility:_
All programs generated in version 1.0 will function with version
1.1. OB 1 programs generated in Toolite 2 can be imported with
the ASCII import feature of Micro/DOS version 1.1.
The STEP 7 Micro/DOS product is designed to operate under MS-DOS,
version 5.0, or higher. Running the product as a DOS shell under
Windows or Windows '95 has not been specifically tested and may,
in some instances, result in a faulty response of your programming device/PC.
There will be no update or upgrade scheme.

spacedave, I suggest, that you post the same topic on other forums for PLC users. This way you'll reach more people to read it and maybe you'll get lucky.
Maybe contacting Siemens via their offical Forum, to find out what is still officialy available/possible to achieve.
