Greetings to all forum members! I would like to ask the community about a concern I have regarding DeltaV software. Currently, I am using DeltaV software version 7.4 with licenses and a corresponding dongle. I am contemplating upgrading to versions 12.3 or 10.3 to take advantage of the added enhancements and functionality.
However, I am concerned about hardware compatibility, especially with regards to the correct operation of the I/O cards. Does anyone have experience with this upgrade and can confirm if the hardware will be compatible and the I/O cards will still operate properly?
Also, I am concerned about the possibility of losing existing firmware or corrupting the system when upgrading - can anyone share experiences or provide information on the associated risks and how to mitigate them?
I am grateful in advance for any advice, experience or knowledge you can provide on this issue.
Thank you very much for your guidance, I am fairly new to DeltaV software.

sir, that is about two days effort. there is a document to ensure compatibility based on your present to the target version. it is safer to involve your local Emerson support.
