SIMATIC NET PC Software uninstall / removal problem.

The situation is as follows: the Simatic Net PC/Software Edition 2007 software and the CP5613 A2 expansion board (which is no longer in production) are installed on a computer running Windows XP. We wanted to replace the A2 board with the CP5613 A3 (which is still in production). This A3 board is compatible with Windows XP, but requires at least SIMATIC NET PC Software Edition 2008 + Service Pack 5 or SIMATIC NET PC Software Edition 2008 + Service Pack 6 and an additional XP support pack to be installed.

The problem is that when trying to install SIMATIC NET PC Software Edition 2008, the installer warns that the installation msi-files of the previous version of the software (Simatic Net PC/Software Edition 2007) are required, which are no longer available, gives an error and fails to remove/uninstall the old version, therefore, fails to install the 2008 version.

I couldn't find the installation files for Simatic Net PC/Software Edition 2007 anywhere. I tried to select 2008's version msi-files, but it did not work. I also tried uninstalling the old version with Windows Installer CleanUp software, but it doesn't seem to remove everything, as the 2008 version still gives a warning that the old version is installed.

Any thoughts on how to remove the old version of Simatic Net in order to install a new one?

After you have inserted the CD ROM with the Software Edition 2008 or after you have called up Setup.exe you will get the option to install the following products or perform the following actions:
- Display readme
- Install SIMATIC NET software
- Display SIMATIC NET documents
- Abort

If predecessor versions of the products are available already, this will be checked and you will be asked for permission for the required uninstallation via a message box.
The subsequent installation will upgrade any existing SIMATIC NET products to the current version of the relevant CD ROM.
This will ensure a safe and consistent operational environment.

Насчёт клинера я вроде понятно написал, что сначала пытался обновить штатным способом, но при удалении (или при попытке установки 2008-й поверх) 2007-я версия требует свои же установочные msi-файлы, которых у нас нет и не было, а в кэш Windows они почему-то тоже не попали.

Клинер я нашел уже после, когда искал, как удалить такие пакеты msi, которые выдают эту ошибку. Если бы всё штатно и просто обновилось, не пришлось бы все эти темы создавать.
