External OPC UA Server to TIA Portal

Dear All,

I need your kind help as I need to know how can I add an external OPC UA Server to TIA Portal to use this OPC tags to my PC Station project. Please note that I didn't add any CPU as its not needed and I will just use the addded OPC tags to the project.

why did you not activate the OPC-Server in your CPU?

What is the version of the CPU and what is the version of your TIA-Portal?

Thanks @georg_demmler for your reply. I didn't add any CPU as I created the project with PC Station with WinCC unified PC. My target is only to read tags from my external OPC Server "Matrikon OPC Server" to use its tags in my TIA project. If I added a CPU and active OPC Server, it will be 2 OPC Servers. I need TIA will act like client to read the data from my external OPC Server.
