How to change IO module of PLC siemens

Hi everyone,

I am a new member. Please support me to care some problem as below:

1. I'd like to order some spare part of PLC Siemens. I already had market facing number (for example: 6ES7131-6BH01-0BA0) but I don't know current firmware of this DI module.

===> Do we need to care firmware of IO module when order spare part ?

2. How to change IO new module ? (what are the sequences steps )

Hello,
shortly:
1. you don´t need to care for firmware during ordering (firmware can be handled e.g. via Siemens Automation Tool).
2. Change IO module
2A - standard I/O´s
- switch off power supply,
- change module,
- switch on power supply.
Done
2B - special modules e.g. IOLink, safety, etc.
- switch off power supply,
- on bottom side of existing module is small "circular connector", where is stored configuration",
- change circular from old to new module,
- insert new module.
- power supply on.
Done.
2C - hot swap module
- no need to switch off power supply,
- exchange module,
Done.
