I am currently working on setting up a redundant system using two Siemens CPU 315-2 PN/DP units. However, I do not have IM 153-2 modules and there are no remote I/Os in my setup. I plan to use Ethernet communication through CP 343-1 modules for redundancy. Additionally, I need to communicate with other PLCs using Modbus.
I have a few questions regarding this setup:
Is it possible to achieve full software redundancy without IM 153-2 modules?
Can FC 100SWR_START be configured effectively in this scenario?
Are there any specific considerations or limitations I should be aware of when setting up software redundancy without IM modules?
Any detailed guidance, example configurations, or documentation references would be greatly appreciated.
