problem with s7-300

hey good people , i need some help > i recently had an s7-300 failure , i am no way an expert on this

my original s7-300 - 317-23k14-0ab0 ,firmware v 3.2.3 - issue with this is that i am able to connect to it VIA the simatic manager however i am unable to go online with it as it states connection to partner error

we bought a replacement - 315-2eh14-0ab0 firmware v3.2.11 , with this i am able to connect to it and go online using the simatic manager however when i insert the SD card and power it up , i do not get a connection on the computer, the network interface is not going live

any suggestions ? what am i doing wrong ?

MMC must cleared in PG (from old wrong configuration jf other PLC) before inserting in new PLC
