[?]:error converting Step5 project

Post by fairguy »

Hi All,
I am a beginner in Simatic Step Programming.
Recently I have trouble trying to replace our Simatic S5. It was fairly old model, and I think the unit has been out of production for couple of years.
Our superior worried that the PLC would crash any moment, they want it replaced to newer model. So, I've downloaded the S5S7 for window and Step7 software from link that was provided in this forum.

I've read some Step5 system manual, and try convert the Step5 files to Step7, but the result was AWL file that cannot be used in Step7 project, because it was contain many errors, and incompatible instruction, e.g. LIR/TIR???
So, Please any Simatic experts, help me convert the Step5 file to Step7 project. I've uploaded the Step5 file to rshare.
